THEMAMASHANNON
Before all else, I am a mommy. My two children fuel my life, and give me so much happiness, and hope for the world around me. My son was diagnosed at the age of 2 with Severe Autistic Disorder (classic autism - nonverbal). He is now 6 and brings along all the typical atttitudal issues of a 6 year old - but he has also has his unique quirks and interests. Being the mom of a special needs child has opened my eyes to a new world. I'm really hoping that through this blog I can enlighten and inspire my family/friends/and other readers to The World of Autism (a planet that I must become acclimated to daily - because with each day, brings new challenges/achievements).
And Olin has the best sister in the world: Ruby! My daughter Ruby amazes me daily her level of compassion, empathy, and kindness. She's neurotypical, and your every-day-diva!!!!! She's artistic, funny, spunky, and intelligent. I can't wait to see the woman she is growing into, because my little lady is going to do big things in this world!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask... otherwise, I hope to keep you interested/entertained enough to visit my blog regularly!

Autismmother2011
Hello, I am a mother of 4 children, whom 2 are Special Needs. My oldest son is Dakota (5) and he has Autism. He also has ADHD, Sensory Issues, Deep Compression Disorder, And Aspergers Syndrome. My youngest son (4) has not been diagnosed yet, although he is started to show the emotional signs and sensory issues as my 5 yr old. his name is Ethan. I am here to support and learn from other mothers. I also, have not been diagnosed, but have a lot of the same issues that my son's have. My mother always told me I was just stubborn. I can recall many time I wondered off to friends houses and even ran away, for no reason at all. I did not have an easy childhood. Maybe it is from that, that i am this way, who knows... but I understand them like no other can. I do have a hard time some days, but for the most part.... we are all kids of the house!!!

I'm a mother of three beautiful boys, from 4 months to almost 6 years old. My two oldest have Sensory Processing Disorder. My hobbies include, but are not limited to: writing, skating, martial arts, making jewelry (I'm building my website now) cooking, reading and watching comedy. This is my very first blog. I was a bit intimidated at first, but am now learning the in's and out's of the blogging community. It's very rewarding and I'm excited to learn more. I welcome any tips and critique. I can't wait to meet some fellow blogging mommies.

EarthMonkeyMoms
I drive a 2002 Honda Odyssey with McDonalds' french fries ground into the seats and the fragrant aroma of spoiled chocolate soy milk in the carpet.
Our family is walking chaos... with three boys 5, 3, and 2, we are never far from disaster striking which usually manifests in forms like pooping from one end of the kitchen to the other or attempted shankings with broken toys.
The last 2 years have been the most challenging of my life. We have faced disaster in almost every aspect, from a failing consulting business (note to self, don't quite job and start new business in a new field with no experience in a down economy) to our older two sons being diagnosed with autism.
Autism is lonely and so many days we just can't even leave the house, so I am excited to help build a community of love and support with other moms. Being a mom is hard... with or without special needs kids! It's time for us to join together... stop judging each other, stop pretending we have it all together and just be free to be who God made us to be.

I am a father of four beautiful kids. One of my kids, Reagan, was diagnosed under the autims spectrum. She's a lively and loving child who is working hard in using her words to communicate with us all. I think sometimes we as people forget that there's always more than one way to hear someone talking to us. I basically had to learn Reagan's language in order to understand her. Just as a new parent can hear their newborn's cries and automatically know it must be feeding or changing time, I had to learn Reagan's cries. Now she's 7 and is really learning to use her words.
I wrote a book titled Reagle Beagle (one of many nicknames we have for Reagan at home is Reagle Beagle) in hopes of reaching typical kids and teaching them not all learn or communicate the same, but we are all the same, sortaspeak.
