I am a 32 yr old mother to two boys. Jacob is 5 and has 5 out of 7 sensory issues; Gabe who is 3 and he has some sensory but I have not been able to pin point how many b/c he is so wild you would think his sensory takes his whole being. My boys have been in OT for several years now and it helps somewhat as long as they don't get overwhelmed, especially when they are tired. I was able to stay home with the boys for two and a half years while starting the therapies.

I am a father of four beautiful kids. One of my kids, Reagan, was diagnosed under the autims spectrum. She's a lively and loving child who is working hard in using her words to communicate with us all. I think sometimes we as people forget that there's always more than one way to hear someone talking to us. I basically had to learn Reagan's language in order to understand her. Just as a new parent can hear their newborn's cries and automatically know it must be feeding or changing time, I had to learn Reagan's cries. Now she's 7 and is really learning to use her words. I wrote a book titled Reagle Beagle (one of many nicknames we have for Reagan at home is Reagle Beagle) in hopes of reaching typical kids and teaching them not all learn or communicate the same, but we are all the same, sortaspeak.

I am a SAHM of 3 kids: a teenage daughter who is 14, a 10 year old son with a variety of letters assigned to him (SPD, APD, AS, ADHD just to name a few), and a 7 year old son with severe allergies and asthma. My husband works out of town frequently, leaving me in charge of the daily madness.

I'm a stay at home mom, because I love my kids and can't afford to work. I have 3 children ages 4, 3, & 14 months as of 8-4-11, you can do the math so I dont have to update my bio info every month! LOL All 3 of my children have SPD, and we are slowly adding to the list. My 3 yr old has sleep apnea, sleep disturbances, and ODD (oppositional defiance disorder). Its always an adventure here! My blog and olther SPD groups help me keep my sanity!
